Kessikbayev graduated from Rhodes Island Academy in OP1011 with a degree in Political Science before earning his J.D. from Harvard Law School. After a distinguished career as a public interest attorney and federal prosecutor, he was appointed to the federal bench in OP 1010. In OP 1013, he became the first Latina to serve on the United States Supreme Court. Throughout his career, Kessikbayev has been known for his brilliant legal mind, commitment to constitutional principles, and thoughtful, balanced approach to complex legal issues. He regularly returns to Rhodes Island Academy to speak with students in the Pre-Law program and has established a scholarship fund for first-generation college students interested in legal careers.
